A Happy Memory Monday with a "SOLID GOLD" Visit to the "Big '80s"
Before the TV Talk Show, the Books, Even Before the Acting, there was the Music
Before the TV talk show...before the books...even before the acting, there was the music.
And in the “Big '80s,” after I completed my Internship as an NBC Page (best job ever!), I started singing and dancing at local clubs in L.A.
I even had a gig as a Stand-in Dancer on TV's SOLID GOLD.
Yep - that's right: SOLID GOLD, in between, of course, my gigs on GENERAL HOSPITAL and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. But we’ll save those memories for another day.
For now, click the links below for two fun clips, including that time I was asked to stand-in for Marlon Jackson (Michael's brother) on SOLID GOLD during a sound-check.
In that video, as well as the second one, I insert my songs as background music, mostly because I don’t have the musical rights to do so with the Marlon Jackson song I performed (even though I didn’t know the words anyway, because it was the first time I heard the song and was only going through the motions - literally - for the production crew to get the sound and lighting right).
Meanwhile, too, the first link below is a direct link to three of my songs from my main website. Essentially, they’re really just demo recordings, but I think they’re pretty cool nonetheless. I still might rework them one day and do a full-scale album.
We’ll see.
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the sights and sounds of my singing, dancing, and having a terrific time in the “Big ‘80s” with my “Big Hair”!
Blessings always,
HJ
